We’re delighted to announce that applications for VAULT Festival 2023 will open at midday on Monday 13th June 2022. VAULT Festival will return in the new year with more bold and original work from new and established artists across theatre, comedy, immersive experiences, cabaret, pop-up events and late night entertainment.
VAULT Festival 2023 will mark the return of the UK’s leading independent showcase of live performance and artistic talent after the cancellation in January of our 10th anniversary festival due to the emergence of the Omicron variant.
In order to make the application process as accessible and straightforward as possible, we’ve developed a comprehensive Application Guide that contains everything applicants need to know about applying for VAULT Festival. The Application Guide features detailed information about what we’re looking for, our venues including tech specs, breakdowns of the financial deal options, all the important dates, and much more. You can also download all the Application Form questions in advance in order to prepare your answers.
We welcome applications from artists of all backgrounds and experiences and applications are open to both UK-based and international creatives. As usual, there is no application fee to apply to the VAULT Festival, and no set artistic criteria – applicants are encouraged to propose daring, challenging and entertaining work across a range of genres and live performance types. We are also seeking “hybrid” work that uses digital technologies to push the boundaries of live performance.
Applicants can choose from a range of bespoke pop-up venues including atmospheric tunnels, studio theatres, and site-specific spaces. Capacities range from intimate single figure immersive spaces, up to larger-scale 180 seaters, catering for most budgets and sizes of production. Audio and video applications are welcome in order to make the application process as accessible as possible.
Applications will open at 12pm, Monday 13th June 2022 and will close at 8pm, Monday 18th July 2022.
