VAULT Festival takes place at various venues around Waterloo. The Vaults is the festival hub and houses a number of different performance spaces, as well as our main bars. Following the link below will take you to our Venues pages, with more information on each of the space.
(Page will open in a new tab outside of the Application Guide).

VAULT Festival is a cooperative environment. Every show will be sharing a venue with other companies, turnarounds are between 20-30 minutes from curtain down to curtain up. If any aspect of your show is too elaborate to facilitate this time/turnaround, you’ll need to let us know during the Application process.
Each venue includes seating, a general lighting rig, a house PA and mics. The Studio and the Network Theatre also come with a projector as standard.
You will be assigned a Technical Manager, who will look after your production requirements in advance of your arrival. Each Venue will have a dedicated Venue Manager who will be your primary onsite point of contact during your run at the Festival.
All visiting companies should provide their own technical crew. The festival crew and venue managers look after the timely running of the venue, but we assume you have accounted for a full crew of your own. It’s possible to book crew through the festival.
Tech times will vary depending on the show genre and run length:
Min. of 4 hours. Usually split into two sessions and includes your load in. Techs usually happen on the Tuesday of your performance week and dress rehearsals on the Wednesday.
Min. of 3 hours. Your get in and dress will generally both happen on the day of your first performance in one session. Except shows at the Horse & Stables (see below)
