Kurt 27, a musician, a poet and alive? Finding himself stuck in the “Bad Fire Motel & Casino” he is given a chance of redemption. Kurt must journey through the endless rooms in pursuit of the Penthouse. But can he face the secrets and truths hiding in the doors of this everlasting Motel?
He may find that music holds the key. With original music by George Clark, Earth to Kurt promises a moving and poignant look at the journey to the afterlife and the stories and people we leave behind. A dark, melodic study of grief, absolution and compassion co-written by George Clark and Ricky Hunt, featuring live up-incoming band “The Kurfew” and the queen of queens Kyran Peet KYRAN THRAX.
Plunge into a black hole of the unknown with Volume Club. Merging comedy with genre-defying music, Volume Club welcomes you to this ecstasy-inducing nightmare. The wildest high, full of agony and thrill. The second dose can't come soon enough.
Volume Club was launched in 2021 by earthlings Hannah Mullen and George Clark (interdisciplinary actors, writers, and directors) from East 15's Acting and Contemporary Theatre course. There, Earth to Kurt was born - quickly rocketing to sell-out success at the 2021 Pleasance Fringe Futures Festival and the Space Launch Festival.
Now Volume club is expanding with Director Ricky Hunt giving his spin on the tale of Earth to Kurt
Greetings, and welcome to the Club.
Press & Reviews
"We’ve never wished theatre seats came with a seat belt until we saw Earth to Kurt… Rip-roaring chaos was met by slick songwriting and scorching riffs. This genre-defying Grunge ‘n’ Roll play fills that gig-shaped hole in our locked down lives.” - Burnt Lemon Theatre Company
"Had the pleasure of teaching Volume Club at East 15 Acting School. Both are talented young makers oozing charisma and grace. If this show turns out half as good as the elevator pitch, it's going to be a winner. I am rooting for them and you should be too!" - Christopher Brett Bailey
"Earth to Kurt is experienced by some as a fantasy and some as a nightmare, but it is definitely a dream of a show" - Uri Roodner, Head of Course, East 15 Acting and Contemporary Theatre
