Ellie is successful, good looking and absolutely happy with the life she’s built in London.
When she returns to Greece to sell her home after it was nearly destroyed by wildfires, she’s faced with questions about whether the people and places that she loved changed while she was away, and whether she’s stayed the same despite years of living in a different world.
Against the backdrop of the impact of the wildfires in the coastal town of Mati in Greece – one of the deadliest wildfires of the 21st century – “Home, Sweet Home” is a tender and funny coming of age story about Europe’s younger generation of migrants, and what it means to search for yourself while you’re running away from a dysfunctional home.
