Fresh from packed runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Niall Moorjani’s ‘A Fairie Tale’ comes to Vault Festival in all its sexy queer brown goodness.

A brand new and original piece of storytelling from Niall Moorjani, directed by Minnie Wilkinson. The show explores Scottish race and gender identities through a medieval inspired landscape, reimagining the folk classic Thomas the Rhymer. Set to live cello music from Diana Redgrave, expect an evening of strangeness, sexy fairies and swearing. This is storytelling at its experimental best.

Niall Moorjani, Diana Redgrave

Niall Moorjani is a mixed- (Scots-Indian) non-binary writer, theatremaker and storyteller. They have toured all over the UK with their work for both children and adults. Notable festivals include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival, Hay on Wye Book Festival and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival. Niall's work has been described as "Storytelling at it's finest"-The Skinny and "Genius" by the Scotsman. In 2022 their children's show 'The Girl And The Dragon' won best children's show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the Derek Awards. They are interested in queer and bpoc stories and fantastical/ historical subject matters.

Diana Redgrave is a Storyteller and Musician, whose work has featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Newham Word Festival and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival. She has toured the UK telling stories and playing cello to accompany them. She is also a renowned children's storyteller and early years practitioner. Her work for adults is often dark, bizarre and brilliant in equal measure.
