Is that a joy-con in your pocket, or are you pleased to see us?

Armed with plasmids, melee weapons, and enough energy drinks to kill a God, Dogmouth Theatre are on a mission to uncover the truth about women in the videogame industry. Because when your world is falling apart and nothing makes sense, who wouldn’t want to escape to a reality where you’re the one in control?

But with gamergate, gatekeeping and growing up to contend with, perhaps being in control isn’t as simple as it appears…

This is a show about video games, the people who love them, and the community they desparately wish would love them back.

Through dark comedy and devised theatre, join Flynn and Alice as they delve into their deepest obsessions, uncover uncomfortable truths, and find answers to the most important question: do true girl gamers REALLY exist?

We operate “Pay More If You Can” pricing to ensure that our shows remain affordable and accessible to everyone.

Cast & Creative Team Lead Creatives: Alice Flynn & Alice Robb

Flynn (better known as Tony Baloney) is a queer playwright and theatremaker from Reading. She is passionate about making form-bending, genre-bending shows which carry strong political messages. Her debut play LITTLE SISTER was shortlisted for the Women's Prize For Playwrighting 2021, and her follow up 1000 WAYS THE WORLD WILL END (and how it starts again) recently premiered at The Bread & Roses Theatre. In her spare time, she enjoys pouring over gaming lore videos, making puppets and generally being annoying on twitter dot com. Her favourite video games are Hollow Knight and Bioshock.

Robb is a queer director, actor and maker from Reading, and co-founded the company with Flynn in 2019. She made her professional directorial debut with Blue Bottles (Periphery Theatre, 2021), and has since gone on to direct 1000 WAYS THE WORLD WILL END (and how it starts again) and RESURRECTION (after Ibsen) with Dogmouth. She loves playing D&D, painting pottery and carpentry. Her favourite video games are PikuNiku and Night In The Woods.
