“I’m not a whirlwind of sexual energy… just a very lonely unicorn.”

Shortly after making a sexual harassment complaint at work, Andrea is fired from her job. Overwhelmed by feelings of frustration and depression, she attempts to combat her loneliness through casual sex, but what starts as a distraction, soon threatens to take over her life.

An unmissable new play from Offie-Award finalist Sam Potter, about a young woman trying to find a balance between her sexuality and what society expects of her, performed by Georgina Fairbanks.

Unicorn Productions

Founded in 2022, The Unicorn, is Ox Production's debut play. After a successful run at The Pleasance at the '22 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Unicorn will be revived for its London debut at the VAULT Festival '23 before embarking on a regional tour.

Sam trained at Dartington College of Arts and Trinity College Dublin. Her debut play, MUCKY KID, which opened at Theatre 503 in 2013, earned her a Most Promising New Playwright Offie nomination and a place on the 2015 Channel 4 Playwrights’ Scheme. In 2015/16 she was Papatango’s Resident Playwright, supported by the BBC Performing Arts Fund, and was one of five writers invited to take part in the Tricycle’s inaugural New
Writers’ Programme, NW6. In 2017, she was appointed Writer in Residence at the North Wall in Oxford and her play CHARLIE CHARLIE reached the Top 40 of the Bruntwood Award. In January 2018 her play HANNA opened at the Arcola before embarking on a UK tour. In 2020, her play NIGHTHAWK was longlisted for the inaugural
Women’s Prize for Playwriting.

Anthony trained as an actor at the Oxford School of Drama where improvisational techniques began to impact his approach to directing. Shortly after graduating he formed a company which seeks to use improvisation to develop ambitious and socially relevant ideas for film and theatre. DUBS (2019), Anthony’s directorial debut, was nominated for two Iris Prize awards and was selected for showcase on the DUST streaming platform.
