Inspired by Camille Dawson’s experiences of struggling with chronic disease, ‘The War Inside’ tells the story of Marnie. Everything is happy, healthy and her body is functioning as normal. Before long, her body will be at war with itself. Undergoing the greatest struggle of her life, Marnie and her organs will have to fight the spiking disease and move forward with new perspectives on life, mortality, and identity.

Camille Dawson is a critically acclaimed writer, performer and director creating playful, personal, political and provocative work.
She is the founder and Artistic Director of Frisky Arts. Camille has written and performed in original theatre pieces (PUSSY, Girl World, Night on Boob Mountain), carving out a multi-art, absurdist and comedic style. She is motivated by writing comedic, anarchic and surrealist scripts with honest female experiences at its heart.
She is a highly multi-disciplinary artist, creating work which draws from her diverse artistic experience in music, cabaret, comedy, film, poetry, radio and visual art.
She has performed her work nationally and internationally at venues including: The Pleasance Theatre London, Bristol Old Vic, Camden People’s Theatre, The Albany Theatre and New Diorama, receiving 5-star reviews and sell out houses.
