VAULT Festival takes place at venues around Waterloo, London, SE1. The nearest underground and mainline station is Waterloo, which serves the Jubilee, Bakerloo, Northern and Waterloo & City line, as well as mainline trains.

The Vaults is the festival hub, and houses a number of different performance spaces, as well as our main bars and box office.

Please make sure you check your tickets and the venue directions carefully, so that you arrive at the correct venue in good time. Latecomers will be refused entry & your tickets will not be refunded.

The majority of our venues provide step free access, however Hello Darling, Vaulty Towers and The Horse & Stables are not, and are highlighted below.

Which Venues are at The Vaults?

How do I get there?

The Vaults, Leake St, London, SE1 7NN. View here on Google Maps.

Leake Street is a pedestrianised road that crosses under Waterloo station and can be accessed from York Road or Lower Marsh.

There is no parking available, so please travel by public transport if you can.

By Tube or Rail

If you are exiting from Waterloo Station:

  • Leave Waterloo Station via Exit 1 (by Platform 1)
  • Turn right onto Station Road Approach and keep on the right hand side of the road.
  • Keep walking until you see a set of stairs and go down.
  • Turn right at the bottom of the staircase.
  • The entrance to the Vaults is 10m down the Leake Street graffiti tunnel on the right hand side.

If you require Step Free Access:

  • As you reach the stairs, immediately to your right will be a ramp across the road heading down to Lower Marsh Road.
  • As you reach Lower Marsh Road, immediately behind you in a ramp leading into Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel (next to Sino’s Thai Restaurant).
  • Head into the tunnel and the entrance to the Vaults is 40m down the Leake Street graffiti tunnel on the right hand side.

By Bus

The nearest bus stop to ‘The Vaults’ is Bus Stop K (Lower Marsh) or A on Westminster Bridge Road. These serve the 12, 148, 159, 453, 53 and 76 buses, heading to/from Aldwych, Elephant & Castle, Kennington.

By River Bus

Thames Clippers offer a unique way to travel around the capital. The nearest stop to The Vaults is London Eye (Waterloo) Pier, only a 9 minute walk. This serves the RB1 service which runs between North Greenwich Pier and London Eye (Waterloo) Pier.

You can use Oyster to pay as you go or Contactless to travel with Thames Clippers; both offer a discounted fare.

By Car or Taxi

Taxis are able to drop off directly on Lower Marsh Road, which provide easy, step free access to the ‘The Vaults’ venue.

This venue can be hard to find! Please leave enough time and follow the directions below carefully. There is also no parking available at this venue.

By Tube

If you are exiting from Waterloo Station:

  • Leave Waterloo Station via Exit 2.
  • Turn right onto Waterloo Road. Continue along Waterloo Road until you reach Baylis Road on the right hand side.
  • Turn onto Baylis Road and continue past Spur Road. Bear right onto Lower Marsh (you will see Cubana restaurant on the left).
  • Continue along Lower Marsh until you reach Launcelot Street.
  • Turn right here onto Launcelot street, a member of our team will be stationed outside the venue to point you in the right direction up to 30 minutes prior to the start of performances.

By Bus

The nearest bus stop to the Network Theatre is Bus Stop K or A (Lower Marsh) on Westminster Bridge Road. These serve the 12, 148, 159, 453, 53 and 76 buses, heading to/from Aldwych, Elephant & Castle, Kennington.

By River Bus

The Gift Horse is upstairs, inside the pub!

By Tube from Lambeth North Station

  • Leave Lambeth North Station, and exit onto Westminster Bridge Road.
  • Turn right onto Westminster Bridge Road and you’ll arrive at the Horse & Stables, after a 3 minute walk, on your right hand side.

By Tube or Rail from Waterloo Station

  • Leave Waterloo Station via Exit 2.
  • Turn right onto Waterloo Road. Continue along Waterloo Road until you reach Baylis Road on the right hand side.
  • Turn onto Baylis Road and continue past Spur Road.
  • Bear right onto Lower Marsh (you will see Cubana restaurant on the left). Continue along Lower Marsh about 200 metres until you reach the end of the road.
  • Turn left onto Westminster Bridge Road and the Horse & Stables will be on your left after about 50 metres.

By Bus

The nearest bus stop is B or P (Lambeth North Station). These serve the 53, 148, 453, 53 and C10 to/from Pimlico and Trafalgar Square.

By River Bus

The Cockatiel is downstairs, inside the pub!

By Tube or Rail

  • Leave Waterloo Station via Exit 2.
  • Cross at the traffic lights and turn right onto Waterloo Road.
  • Continue along Waterloo Road until you reach the crossroads (you’ll see the Old Vic Theatre). Continue over the crossroads and Hello Darling will be on the left hand side (just past the Old Vic).

By Bus

The nearest bus stops to Hello Darling are Q and S (The Old Vic). They are served by the 1, 68, 168, 172, 176, 188, N1, N68, N171.

By River Bus
