VAULT Festival takes place at bespoke venues around Waterloo in Central London. We create most of the venues from scratch, as well as several bars and box offices. Follow the link below for more information on each of our Venues.

VAULT Festival is a cooperative environment. Every show will be sharing a venue with other artists & shows, turnarounds are between 20-60 minutes (depending on the venue) from curtain down to curtain up.
For 2023, we’ve altered our programming approach for some of the medium (Cavern, Network Theatre) and larger (Crescent, Forge/The Flair Ground) venues to reduce the number of slots per day/evening, and allow for a longer (45mins-1 hour) turnaround between shows. This has three major benefits: 1) it allows shows to run longer – up to 75 minutes (90mins on occasion) – if agreed in advance. 2) it enables shows to be more technically ambitious with longer to set up/pack down. 3) it creates a kinder, nicer working environment for our staff and artists.
If any aspect of your show is too elaborate to facilitate this time/turnaround, you’ll need to let us know during the Application process.
Each venue includes seating, a general lighting rig, a house PA and mics. The Studio, the Network Theatre and Crypt also come with a projector as standard.
You’ll be assigned a Technical Manager, who will look after your requirements in advance of your arrival. Each Venue will have a dedicated Venue Stage Manager who will be your primary point of contact during your run. The VAULT Festival technical team and venue managers will look after the overall running of the venue. Every show has the choice:
• To be self-sufficient & provide their own technical crew for their tech rehearsal, turnaround, & show operation.
• Book crew via the Festival as applicable to their requirements.
Tech times will vary depending on the show’s scale, stage of development, venue, and run length. The below is intended as a guide only:
Min. of 4 hours. Your tech will generally happen on the day of your first performance in one session.
Min. of 3 hours. Your tech will generally happen on the day of your first performance in one session.
Min. of 2 hours. Your tech will generally happen on the day of your first performance in one session.
Min. of 1 hour. Your get in and dress will generally both happen on the day of your first performance in one session. Except shows at Vaulty Towers (see below).
15 mins. Please note that the performance area has a bar/cafe in it that will be open during your setup time.
