It’s the comeback equivalent of the Spice Girls at the Olympics, Cher doing Believe, or Kathy Beale climbing out of a taxi: Bradley is returning to drag for the first time in a decade. But when he learns that an unwelcome blast from the past is in the audience, he must decide if he’s truly ready…

A funny, warm-hearted, extremely queer play about moving on from trauma, the power of community, and the restorative force of a Britney Spears banger.

West Avenue

West Avenue was founded by writer Shaun Kitchener in 2014. Pre-pandemic it ran 21 editions of the sell-out new writing night Briefs; and produced several acclaimed theatre projects including Positive (Waterloo East), Christmas Farce (Rosemary Branch), Six Pack (Leicester Square Theatre) and the double-bill Caravan and Pin (White Bear).

Writer Shaun Kitchener is a BAFTA Rocliffe-winning, double Offie-nominated stage and screen writer, who has penned over 50 episodes of Hollyoaks for Channel 4. His play All That was the Queer Season headliner at the King’s Head Theatre; and his professional debut Positive - in which he also performed - transferred to the Park Theatre to critical acclaim. He has written on two seasons of Queerpiphany for MTV, and his first made-for-TV movie is due for release this year, as well as his first short film. In 2020, he was longlisted for the Screenshot Prize, making the top 5% of entrants. He's also a DJ and journalist, and pens a fortnightly pop culture column for Metro.

Director Anoushka Bonwick's credits include Generations by Ryan Sinclair (The Crescent, Birmingham), The Cost of Everything by Elliot Hughes (R&D at Dukes, Lancaster), Fridge by Emma Zadow (3-week run at the Hope Theatre), Drawing the Line by Elliot Hughes (the Albany Theatre), Hamotzi by Emma Zadow (Mountview Producers Catalyst festival), 17 by Frankie Meredith (rehearsed reading at 2 Northdown), Standard:Elite by Elliot Hughes (national tour), The Ballerina by Anne-Sophie Marie (Landor Theatre & Actors Centre), First Time by Suzy Gill (staged reading at the Rosemary Branch Theatre), Scavengers and As the Sun Goes Down (Chorlton Arts Festival, Manchester). Anoushka is the Associate Director for the playable political theatre company, Hidden Track.
