A genuine exploration of “It doesn’t matter, one day I’ll be dead. Or does it?” Expect ridiculous deathly shower thoughts, a battle between the simple biology and the complex poetry of death, an introduction to the fascinating funeral industry history and current developments, some end of life planning arts and crafts, and a look around the world for ways to do dying better.

Happy Deathday was inspired by personal issues with a lack of end of life planning, and death being a taboo topic many of us are so desperate to talk about. Because one thing is for sure, we all die eventually, there is (currently) no way around it. This comedic, interactive piece allows audiences to step into a world where talking about the end of life isn’t a taboo anymore.

Happy Deathday’s development and delivery was generously supported by end of life doula Sabrina Singh, funeral celebrant Carole Pluckrose, Boathouse Creative Studios and Arka Funerals
