This is Melanie, a 20-something a school teacher in an underfunded school system. She’s slowly losing control – of her life, of her students and her home. When one of her students goes missing over county lines, the consequences ripple out and affect not just Melanie but a whole community.

As Melanie attempts to track down her student, she grapples with her personal love life, and the threat of redevelopment of her estate from the local council. Redbrick is a funny and powerful look at one woman’s search for herself and her struggle against things much bigger – aggressive gentrification, the underfunded school system, & county lines. A new play written, performed & co-directed by Amma-Afi Osei and Darren Sinnot.
