Lou is fine. Lou is totally fine. Except that they’re skint again, her family don’t know she’s a lesbian, and their friends are all pretending that the sh*tty things they did in school didn’t really happen – Oh, and her deadbeat dad has resurfaced with cancer after 20 years. But no biggie. (Yes biggie.)
Bringing together the caustically funny and the awkwardly devastating, ‘SICK’ unceremoniously boots us all off our little pedestals and forces us face whether we’re really letting ourselves be seen for who we are – It just boots Lou extra hard.
