Throughout VAULT Festival, we’ll be sharing nominations for our Festival Awards, which recognise exceptional shows and the outstanding contributions of our artists each and every festival. We’ve been presenting and developing the awards since 2015, and they’re assessed by an independent panel of judges. Hear from our Head of Programming, Bec Martin about the nominees for week five:
“Sorry for the delay this week team, but it’s all systems go here at VAULT Festival! As we steamroll into the second half of the Festival, there are a slew of incredible productions being showcased once again.
Week 5 saw 89 shows perform, including our first two VAULT Five Artists’ work! Beth Bowden presented Right of Way and Tatenda Matsvai gave us Dark Matter, both beautiful multi-disciplinary pieces of work. Our incredible comedians at Vaulty Towers and The Glitch continue to play to packed houses and the weekend was capped off by two truly incredible Late Night Parties presented by Pecs and Dykes on Mics.
As we approach the end of the Festival, it gets more and more difficult to fathom that this will be our last time in our home of ten years. There is something truly magical about this space that we have made our own over a decade, that has given opportunities to some of the most celebrated artists in the country, that has played host to the most wild and wonderful variety of work.
But until then, let’s keep celebrating the work of our incredible artists! Here are the nominees for week 5:”
