“Mrs Richardson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?”
In 2011, Alexander Fox left school and went on to music college, where he began an illicit affair with his drum teacher, Mrs Richardson. Their lives became intertwined, then increasingly dark and dangerous, as Alexander learned a few more lessons at college than he’d anticipated.
Following his critically acclaimed debut hour 'Ringo', comedian, improviser and drummer Alexander Fox brings a brand new show to VAULT. Set in a recording studio, with the action taking place around a live drum kit and featuring star guest musicians, 'Whiplash' meets 'The Graduate' in this bold and innovative drumming comedy experience.

Alexander Fox is a comedian, writer, improviser and musician.
He sought to make his debut solo comedy hour as innovative as possible, so 'Alexander Fox: Ringo' – described as "Whiplash meets Yellow Submarine" – drew on his talent as a drummer and percussionist. Set around a live electric drum kit, it attracted important figures from the worlds of both comedy and music to the Pleasance Courtyard in Edinburgh, before transfers to Pleasance Islington, VAULT Festival, and a recording for online comedy platform NextUp.
He was previously in sketch comedy troupe The Awkward Silence, who were script-edited by Brass Eye's David Quantick and with whom he was nominated for ‘Best New Act’ at London Sketchfest.
Alexander founded Shaken Not Stirred: The Improvised James Bond Film, which recently completed a fourth consecutive sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and which has garnered a cult following for its ambitious two-prov format. He is a regular and experienced improviser on the UK scene, and his other improv work includes Bumper Blyton, Sally & Fox, Criminal, and The Actor's Nightmare with the cast of the Comedy Store Players.
He is an alumnus of both the Oxford Imps and the Oxford Revue. Since then he has trained with acclaimed US improv companies iO Theatre and Mischief Theatre (Chicago), UCB Theatre (New York), Second City (touring company), and he is a graduate of London’s The Free Association.
His easy manner onstage has seen him in demand as a host for a wide variety of events, where he has introduced an eclectic selection of figures including Chase and Status, Henning Wehn, Robin Ince, Sara Pascoe and Mark Ronson.
Alexander's debut hour 'Ringo' has just been released on comedy platform NextUp.
