Britney have made wonderful shows before, don’t get me wrong, but this is their best yet. This show is a sketch show at the Vault Festival, and these ladies are very excited but also quite nervous to be so far underground. There’s something for everyone, literally.
Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson have sold out a bunch of shows over the past coupla years (at Soho Theatre and Battersea Arts Centre and *an* Oxfordshire village hall) so why not see these two buffoons before they inevitably quit sketch comedy for more fulfilling careers. Critics have called them ‘hysterical’, ‘side-splittingly funny’, ‘a modern-day French and Saunders’; their agents are calling them ‘a bit of a risk’, and fans of the show are calling it... quits.
For two nights only, Britney are returning to their roots with a brand new show. Two best mates and that’s all that matters.Book Now
We are BRITNEY, a sketch duo made up of Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson. We brought our first show, Britney, to the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and 2017 VAULT Festival, where it was recommended by The Guardian, London Evening Standard and Time Out. Britney has subsequently been to the Battersea Arts Centre and Soho Theatre for sell-out runs. They have been featured in a Channel 4 Spark.Book Now
Fringe Biscuit, ★★★★★, "Hysterical... Britney have mastered a unique style of multi-format storytelling"
A Younger Theatre, "The pair reminded me of a modern-day French and Saunders"
Edin Blogger, ★★★★★ “I have never been so moved by a Fringe performance before. Britney touched me in ways no comedy show has”
EdFringeReview, ★★★★, "At once comforting as it is side-splittingly funny"
Theatre Weekly, ★★★★★, "Taking a wholly unfunny subject and turning it in to a comedy cannot possibly be an easy task, but that’s exactly what Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson have done with Britney. Not only that, they’ve done it incredibly well... Britney is laugh-out-loud funny and told with love"
AT the 2017 VAULT Festival, Britney was recommended by The Guardian, London Evening Standard and Time Out. Britney has subsequently been to the Battersea Arts Centre and the Soho Theatre (main stage even!) for sell-out runs.
