Captain’s Log, Stardate (whatever).
Two of the country’s most diverse creatives, Eoghan Carrick and Nessa Matthews have joined forces to bring Dublin Fringe audiences to infinity and beyond in their new play i n f i n i t y. Carrick, a freelance director, lighting designer, and associate director of Corn Exchange and Matthews, LAMDA graduate, actor and playwright, aim to bring us on a universal quest to find hope in a galaxy of loneliness. I n f i n i t y premiered at Smock Alley’s Black Box Theatre in September.
Cut to deepest space, past the deadzone, where a lone astronaut hurtles through the cosmos on a one-way mission to the edge of the universe. She’s looking for a light in the dark. The source of a signal. Traversing time and space, isolation and uncertainty, her quest to find hope will bring her to the brink of the abyss.
Created in association with Corn Exchange Theatre Company and Mermaid Arts Centre. Supported by UCD through the inaugural UCD Dramsoc Company-in-Residence Award. i n f i n i t y was developed at Scene + Heard 2017. Developed at FRINGE LAB with the support of Dublin Fringe Festival.

No More Workhorse
“The piece is very open about the problems of modern life and how anxiety and inner turmoil can take hold. Nessa talks on the subject with an honesty that is impressive... [Infinity is] an impressive analogy for the solitude and remoteness that we can experience in our daily lives.”
