Worklight Theatre’s multi-award winning show is a funny, moving and honest story about mixed heritage and immigration. Charting a childhood in 90’s Devon, shifting political landscapes and global refugee crisis, the show uses comedy, storytelling and spoken word.

Using humour and honesty, Labels offers a human story from multicultural Britain, Labels continues to tour internationally after an award-winning Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Australian tour, London transfer. Expect paper planes, racist romances and lots of sticky labels!

Joe Sellman-Leava

Formed in Exeter, 2011, Worklight use contemporary social issues and uses microcosmic stories to explore the broader context of the ever-changing world around us. Their theatre is deeply personal, politically charged and highly inquisitive. Their debut show How to Start a Riot received critical acclaim during its Edinburgh Festival Fringe premiere and and two awards during its UK tour. Their show Labels has toured internationally since 2015. Worklight continue to develop and tour work in the south west of England, and hold rural and regional touring as cornerstones of our mission to make great theatre accessible to everyone. “
