What really happens when the fat lady sings?
Everything that ends involves some kind of goodbye. Whether you are saying it to a person, an addiction or a place, every aspect of your life that you part ways with is acknowledged by that final farewell: “ok, bye”.
2017’s People’s Choice Award Winners RedBellyBlack return to VAULT Festival with a fierce, fresh take on saying: “Goodbye.”
“Ok, bye” can mean thousands of different things: “I love you”, “I’m sorry”, “I never want to see your stupid face again”, or even just the end of a phone call.
But what exactly happens when we say “goodbye?”
Why do we even do it?
And how does it leave us feeling?
Featuring their signature combination of physical theatre and dynamic storytelling, RedBellyBlack are opening a dialogue about what it means to part ways. Co-creators Kate Goodfellow and Vicki Baron take the best of everything they find and use it to make intimate and exciting theatre, combining heart-warming tales from real life with live music and powerful movement.
“Beautifully honest…storytelling at its most unlimited” – LondonTheatre1
“Kate Goodfellow’s performance…is among the finest I’ve seen” – Fringe Guru
“Baron knows how to gut punch her audience like few others” – Views from the Gods
