A Brand SKANKING new solo show - from Yorkshire!
The Producer calls SKANK 'A Tesco Value, Northern Fleabag' which looks great in this opening blurb...
Meet Kate. She’s a Skank.
She could be a successful writer, if she could just concentrate. Instead, her head is filled with recycling concerns, genius ways to ensnare Sexy Gary, and the persistent fear that her internal organs are against her.
Clementine Bogg-Hargroves reveals the witty, dark and often filthy thoughts of an ambitious twenty-something grappling with her uncertain future. How can someone so confident be so terrified? If you like Comedy, drama, and twenty something witty angst, step inside the world of SKANK - the performance has many 4 out 5 star reviews which look good on the poster.
'A constantly funny play.' - British Theatre Guide
'skank is laugh-out-loud funny.' - She-Wolf
'Wickedly funny, yet touching.' **** The Play's The Thing
Instead of taking up her post at MI5 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh with an MA (Hons) in Arabic, Clem decided to move to Leigh in Greater Manchester, get a ginger cat called Willy and write, produce and perform for £0 an hour.
She raised a small percentage of her MAMMOTH drama school fees by producing and performing in plays and pantomimes whilst living in, what was essentially, her mum's art supplies cupboard in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Since graduating from her MA in professional acting, Clem has been commissioned by IMAGO and the arts council to create the one-man show Peanut., a solo show about skinhead culture in 1980s Wigan. Once she'd spent all the funding on rent, Clem started to tutor French and English to support herself whilst she created filmed content for her production company GetGiddier. GetGiddier has won a few awards and nominations during their first two years, most recently their mockumentary 'Life's In Non-League' was shortlisted by the Comedy Crowd for best short.
SKANK began its life in Skipton in early 2019, where Clem performed it for the very first time to a sold out audience in a local café. The play's second outing was at the Grassington Fringe Festival, then The Greater Manchester Fringe where it was longlisted for the Write For The Stage Award and asked to come back to the King's Arms for a 4 night run in January as part of a Best of The Fringe season.Book Now
