Speed Dial (Work in Progress)

After sell-out runs in Edinburgh, London, Bristol and Hong Kong, Spies Like Us bring their explosive physical style to Vault Festival for the first time with a work in progress.

When a Professor answers an apparently random phone call that seems eerily pertinent to their own life, decade-long feuds are uncovered and old wounds are prised open. In a race against the clock to save their family and their job, the Professor hares across the quad from the library, to the lecture hall to the gymnasium attempting to uncover whodunnit and why. Multi-award winners Spies Like Us present an action-packed physical thriller about connection, forgiveness and inter-faculty rivalry on the grand old grounds of a 1970s university campus.

Spies Like Us are also bringing their award winning SELL-OUT Edinburgh Festival Fringe Show 'Our Man From Havana' to VAULT Festival 3rd - 5th March!

About Spies Like Us

Spies Like Us is an ensemble physical theatre company comprised of seven Young Pleasance graduates which started as part of the Pleasance Futures’ XYP initiative. With a combined total of 31 Edinburgh and London fringe runs between them, Spies Like Us was formed to produce Our Man in Havana, our award-winning, sell-out debut show which played at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as the Pleasance’s 2017 XYP company.
In 2018, Spies Like Us returned to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with their award-winning adaptation of Woyzeck which won Theatre Weekly's Best Physical Theatre Award 2018 and Voice Magazine's Pick Of The Fringe 2018 and subsequently went on to tour in London and regionally.
Their last show Murder On The Dancefloor, their first original work, was highly acclaimed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019. They are one of New Diorama Theatre's Emerging Companies 2019-2020.

The company is committed to producing endlessly inventive theatre with a focus on devised visual storytelling and ensemble performance which puts movement at the forefront of the narrative; a style that has captured our collective imaginations having learnt from Young Pleasance’s trademark style.
