Succubus has a lot of funny mates - we’re talking pals that are verified, award-winning-ly HILARIOUS - and we put them to good use. They write for our satirical women’s magazine, they perform at our monthly gig, they do spots at our Edinburgh shows and now we’re rounding a few of them up for an hour of live stand up and sketch comedy at this year’s Vault Festival to raise money for incredible charities Mermaids, Gendered Intelligence and Educate & Celebrate.
In light of recent garbage being batted around online and in the media - disappointingly by figures within the UK comedy industry - we’ve decided to use our Vault show as an opportunity to express unequivocal solidarity with the trans community + raise money for charities doing important work supporting trans and gender questioning children, and helping to transform schools and organisations into LGBT+ friendly places.
Hosted by the unstoppable and hilarious force of nature, Jordan Gray. (BBC1'S The Voice, Diva Magazine columnist, radio host, Colchester New Comedian of the Year Winner 2017 & patron of LGBT+ education charity Educate and Celebrate.)
PLUS Jessie Johnson ("boundless energy" - Broadway Baby), sketch group Shelf (BBC3, "cool and relevant" - The Skinny), Kemah Bob (regular guest on The Guilty Feminist podcast), and even more acts to be announced!
Seriously, they’re all so funny, we’re worried it might be too much for you lot.
We’ve got a big old room to fill, so bring friends, family members, Tinder dates, lodgers, schoolmates, foreign exchange students, netball team members, colleagues, crushes, lovers and ex-lovers you still have a pretty good relationship with because you’re both emotionally evolved people with a lot of respect for each other. You need to rope in AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN because it's for an amazing cause and the more tickets we sell the more money we raise.
Succubus is a satirical online women’s magazine that uses humour to challenge the way media, society and men communicate with women. Succubus is proud to be featuring some of the best and brightest comedy writers in the UK who, between them, have credits on The Now Show, Dead Ringers, The Daily Mash, The Mash Report, The News Quiz and more.
Mixed bill of female, trans and non-binary acts hosted by Jordan Gray.
