Scrawled diary entries & dog-eared photo albums unfold to reveal a delicate glimpse into the fragments of absolute joy and incomprehensible heartbreak that make up a lifetime. You're invited to step inside this unique storytelling installation to discover honest & personal accounts of kindness, courage, friendship and family. It is a mixture of poetic storytelling, verbatim interviews and a sprawling unfolding photo album of memories - and it all takes place inside a lovingly crafted garden shed.

About the company

Casey Jay Andrews

Casey Jay Andrews is an award winning writer, performer and designer. In 2018 she won the Scotsman’s coveted Fringe First Award at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe for "The Archive of Educated Hearts", and was also long-listed for The Old Vic 12 in the writing category.

Casey’s previous work has been nominated for The Charlie Hartill Special Reserve Fund, The Infallible Awards, The MTN Awards, The NSDF Award, The Sit-Up Awards, The Underbelly IdeasTap Award and The DramaUK Scottish Daily Mail Award.

Casey began writing, directing and designing as one of the Artistic Directors behind HookHitch Theatre, from there she has worked with many collaborators including Patch of Blue Theatre, The Flanagan Collective, Migration Matters Festival, The Guild of Misrule and more. She is also an alumnus of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society's Emerging Producers Development Programme.

Casey is currently producing new work as Artistic Director of Lion House Theatre.

The sound design for "The Archive of Educated Hearts" was created with composer George Jennings. Casey Jay Andrews and George Jennings are long time collaborators, and have worked together on a number of productions since 2012 with HookHitch Theatre, Lion House Theatre, South Hill Park Arts Centre and The Guildford School of Acting. They first worked together on "This was The World and I was King" (HookHitch Theatre) and have more recently collaborated on Lion House Theatre's mythological trilogy of plays "From Dust", "Night Creature" & "Every Wild Beast".
