The LOL Word

Presented by The LOL Word

Like comedy? Like queer women? Then you'll love The LOL Word: prom night special. This gang of best buds and brilliant stand-up comedians will have you hooting with laughter at VAULT, as they do their award-winning material with a 00s prom twist.

Described by Sofie Hagen as "my favourite comedy club in London", The LOL Word is a queer collective who are taking the UK by storm, with their hilarious, inclusive comedy nights. There's no kicking down (no transphobia, sexism, racism) but plenty of punching the patriarchy.

So join Chloe, Rachel, Ruby, Jodie and the other Chloe as they consensually tickle your funny bone while taking a look back at *those* Debenhams dresses...

The team's accolades: Funny Women Finalists 2018, BBC New Comedy Award Semi-Finalist 2018, Leicester Square New Comedy Award Finalist 2018.
As seen on BBC Three, Lad Bible and at London Pride and Bestival. As heard on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
"Cool and relevant", The Skinny.
“Belly laughs in heavyweight topics like mental health, sexuality and gender", DIVA Magazine.
"THE night to go to.", Bechdel Theatre.

About the company

The LOL Word

The LOL Word was founded in 2017 by up-and-coming comedians and best friends Chloe Petts, Jodie Mitchell, Chloe Green and Ruby Clyde and Rachel Watkeys-Dowie (sketch duo, Shelf).

They joined forces to provide an antidote to the pale, male, stale and predominantly straight state of the comedy scene in the UK and exploded onto the scene: they've had two sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Manchester's Women in Comedy Festival, as well as their monthly show at infamous London comedy club, The Albany, which the owners call "Our favourite night of the month".

Together, this gang is a force to be reckoned with, but individually they're not so bad either. Their individual accolades include: Funny Women Finalists 2018, BBC New Comedy Award Semi-Finalist 2018, Leicester Square New Comedy Award Finalist 2018.
