Award-winning Seemia return to VAULT with their dark-comedy, bursting with phsyical-theatre and storytelling, clowning and music. Seemia ask what makes us become who we are, pulling apart the matrix of gender politics, religion and the impact of family relationships on forming our identity.

From the native Persian, Seemia translates as ‘Casting a spell with words.’
Seemia Theatre are an award-winning international theatre ensemble, from Argentina, Iran and the UK, dedicated to sharing stories that ought to be heard. We endeavour to connect the performers and audience with current issues in society fusing physical theatre, musicality, clowning and storytelling.
Seemia presented their previous award-winning play, 'Evros | The Crossing River' at VAULT Festival 2018. It has since toured nationally and internationally, featured on BBC World Service, won Summerhall’s Lustrum Award 2018 and was nominated for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.
