Julene Robinson is visionary storyteller artist and performer who creates and performs inspiring one woman shows an artist and performer based in London. Her work is thought- provoking, intimate and personal and focused on the microcosm of the self and its relationship to the macrocosm of the world we exist in. She has made work for galleries, memorial sites and theatres. She has been an actor for several years but not before she pursued a career in chemistry.
The charge on her existence is how to make the world a better place for people who the world wasn’t built for. Her first attempt was to become a scientist charged with understanding the world. Over time through theatre, art and performance she found a way to navigate that world and attempt to transform it. Performance offer her the opportunity to be implicated in the process that inspire change.
Robinson have performed in over 20 commercial productions in Jamaica, many of which have been nominated and won awards acting, supporting actor and many technical awards. In 2017 she produced and performed her first production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she received many great reviews. She also recently mounted a moving and thought-provoking live art installation piece in celebration of Black History Month with Kings College London and Love of Culture. The Night Woman will be her first original solo show in the UK.Book Now
